Juliene is a Postdoctoral Research Officer with expertise in cardiovascular and exercise physiology, micro- and macrovascular imaging, thermoregulation, and exercise interventions. She completed her PhD in Cardiovascular and Exercise Physiology at The University of Western Australia, and before joining The Kids, Juliene worked at The Raine Study, performing cardiometabolic assessments in different age groups.

She is currently involved in the COMPASS study, a large community screening study investigating the prevalence of abnormal lung function, respiratory symptoms and cardiovascular risk in individuals born preterm in Western Australia.

Juliene's research focuses on cardiovascular and respiratory health across the lifespan, with a particular interest in understanding the long-term health outcomes of individuals born preterm. She has extensive experience in clinical research, cardiometabolic and vascular assessments, and working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver health interventions for people with chronic conditions. Her work aims to improve our understanding of cardiovascular risk following preterm birth, and to identify how lifestyle factors, including physical activity, can support healthier outcomes and reduce the risk of future cardiovascular disease in children born preterm.
