Mehardeep Kaur is a Research Assistant within the Human Development and Community Wellbeing team, where she contributes to health economic evaluations and applied quantitative research across projects focused on health and community wellbeing.
Mehar is an economist by training, with interests in applied microeconomics, public policy and the use of causal methods for impact evaluation. Her research experience spans health economics and broader social policy questions, and she is particularly interested in using data to understand real-world challenges and produce evidence that can inform practical and equitable policy decisions.
Mehar holds a Bachelor of Economics (Professional Economics) and Master of Economics (Financial Economics and Research Dissertation) from The University of Western Australia. Her postgraduate research examined how changes in women’s property rights in India shaped marriage outcomes, strengthening her interest in applied research at the intersection of economics, policy and social wellbeing.
