Jaimee has previously worked clinically in the public sector in both metropolitan and regional areas of Western Australia. Jaimee’s research interests include public health, community health, health promotion and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. Jaimee is passionate about promoting and facilitating access to culturally appropriate services that improve health outcomes for all people within Western Australia, despite their gender, ethnic or cultural background or geographical location. She has experience working clinically and researching within the community and public health and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health spaces in partnership with the W.A. Country Health Service and the Wheatbelt Aboriginal Health Service through completing her honours degree titled ‘Is a cultural lens used to deliver smoking cessation health promotion and education to Aboriginal people in a setting in the Wheatbelt, W.A.?: A narrative inquiry’. Jaimee continues to develop her research skills in her role at The Kids Research Institute Australia through coordination of the ‘Healthy Ears’ clinical trial, which aims to see whether children could experience resolution of their otitis media with effusion (OME) by completing some simple, low-cost, family-led health promotion programs.
