Andrew is a mathematical modeller with the Global Disease Modelling team, with a focus on simulating malaria and estimating the health impact of malaria vaccines.
While joining The Kids, Andrew is also in the final stages of completing his PhD in astrophysics at the University of Western Australia. His thesis focuses on studying how energetic processes within galaxy clusters, such as the powerful jets launched by black holes, shape and disturb their hot gas. Before that, Andrew graduated with an Honours degree in physics and mathematics. His extensive background using mathematical models to describe complex physical systems has enabled him to apply these skills to studying biological processes.
Outside of work, Andrew is passionate about reading, running and all things science. He also enjoys travelling and studying history in his spare time.
