Dr. Getayeneh Tesema is a spatial epidemiologist specializing in public health research and advanced statistical methodologies. He is currently a Research Officer at the Kids Research Institute, Australia. Dr. Tesema completed his PhD in Public Health (Epidemiology) at Monash University, where his research focused on spatial and spatio-temporal modelling of cancer outcomes using Bayesian methods and machine learning techniques. His research encompasses infectious diseases, cancer epidemiology, and maternal and child health, resulting in multiple high-impact publications. He has extensive experience with large-scale datasets, including the Victorian Lung Cancer Registry, the National Gynaecology Registry, and the Global Burden of Disease study. His research interests include geospatial analysis, predictive modelling, and statistical techniques for infectious disease epidemiology.
