Help shape the future of health & medical research in your community

Have your say on how consumers and the community are involved in health and medical research.

The Kids Research Institute Australia logo NHMRC logo CHF logo

We believe health and medical research should reflect the needs and priorities of the community.

That's why The Kids Research Institute Australia, alongside The National Health & Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and Consumers Health Forum of Australia (CHF), is asking for your feedback on the draft Statement on Consumer and Community Involvement in Health and Medical Research ('The Statement') .

Express your interest to join one of the 23 roundtables being held nationally, to give your input on the draft Statement. It’s a valuable opportunity to be part of a conversation that helps shape health and medical research in Australia.

What is 'The Statement' and why does your input matter?

The core purpose of 'The Statement' is to guide research funders, research institutions, researchers, consumers, and community members in the active involvement of consumers and community members across all aspects of health and medical research.

Following a comprehensive review in 2024, 'The Statement' has been revised to ensure it's as effective and relevant as possible in fostering meaningful partnerships. Your feedback will directly influence how people like you can help shape the future of health discoveries and breakthroughs, ensuring research truly benefits our community.

Review the draft version of 'The Statement' here.
