Dr. Celeste Duff is a Senior Research Fellow with the Healing Kids, Healing Families team, where she leads the Aboriginal Parenting Program. She completed her PhD in 2020 at the University of Warwick, England, focusing on the implementation of mindfulness in primary schools and health services in the United States. Her research explored the motivations of educators and healthcare professionals in implementing mindfulness practices for children, as well as the pedagogical approaches to mindfulness and the associated wellbeing benefits for children.

Celeste’s interdisciplinary research has examined life skills programs for youth with acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy, and spina bifida, emphasizing their impact on youth self-determination, resilience, and agency. She has evaluated Indigenous child welfare programs for the government of British Columbia, Canada, and developed culturally safe, trauma-informed child protection practices for social workers. Recently, she led the synthesis of social determinants of health data and reporting on an Aboriginal-led research collaboration in the Pilbara and Perth to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal children and families.
