Sara Pasic is a Project Coordinator with the BREATH team at The Kids Research Institute Australia and has a translational research focus dedicated to improving respiratory health outcomes for infants, with particular attention to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Sara earned her Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology (2016) and completed Honours in Biomedical Science (2017) at Curtin University, where she investigated the role of progenitor cells in chronic liver injury. Sara was awarded an RTP Scholarship from Curtin University, completing her PhD in 2024 where she explored cellular communication in liver fibrosis.  Following her PhD, Sara worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher within the Liver Cancer Collaborative program. There, her work addressed critical challenges in tumour heterogeneity, drug resistance, and improving patient-outcome prediction.

In 2025, Sara joined The Kids Research Institute, looking to extend her research expertise in the respiratory space. As a Project Coordinator for the Kids Easy Breathing (KEB) study, the team is working to improve respiratory outcomes of infants with bronchiolitis and work towards preventing the development of Bronchiectasis through biomarker discovery and early intervention. Sara is committed to advancing translational and collaborative research that bridges basic science, clinical practice, and community impact to benefit the respiratory health trajectories of vulnerable infants.
