Information for parents - What does participation involve?

Children grow and develop in many ways, and no single assessment can tell the whole story.

Children grow and develop in many ways, and no single assessment can tell the whole story. The CIRCA DIEM KIDS Study brings together a range of assessments to help us better understand how children born very preterm are growing, learning and thriving during early childhood.

The CIRCA DIEM KIDS Study brings together a range of assessments to better understand children's health, development and wellbeing during early childhood. We are keen to undertake as many of the assessments outlined below in each child to obtain a full understanding of your child’s development. However, your child may have already had some of these tests, or you may not be able to commit to being involved in all aspects of the study.

When your child is between the ages of 5 and 8 years old, we will contact you to ask if you would like to be part of this range of assessments for the CIRCA DIEM KIDS Study. If you agree for your child to join the study, we will discuss each of the tests outlined below with you and agree together on the level of participation right for your child. Together, these assessments help us build a comprehensive picture of how children born very preterm are growing, learning and thriving and if the CIRCA DIEM day-night environment offers important benefits for these outcomes.
