Crystal is the Theme Manager for the Chronic Disease theme, starting at The Kids in 2025. Crystal is a skilled people leader, who has worked in various positions to support teams of people to provide services and funding to people who need it most. Crystal is known for focusing on inclusion and collaboration - encouraging people to come together to work collectively at any goal.
Crystal is a qualified Occupational Therapist, starting her career in research before pursuing a clinical focus in paediatric disability, assistive technology and home modifications.
Crystal's early research was in self-management of chronic conditions, Crystal worked as a research assistant after finishing her Honours and commencing a PhD.
Crystal has worked in leadership since 2014 and completed a Diploma of Leadership and Management in 2017. Crystal and her team played a key role in overseeing state-wide assistive technology and home modifications contracts during the NDIS transition - administering state-wide funding and providing clinical advisory services for both WA NDIS and NDIS during the transition from CAEP (Community Aids and Equipment Program) funding to a federal model. Crystal's team also provided clinical and funding advice to Department of Housing, Equipment for Living and Disability Equipment Grants, and provided project management services for accessible building projects. Crystal has also chaired several small charities and consumer reference groups.
Crystal has led large allied health teams across metropolitan and regional areas - in both operational and clinical management roles for general and specialized disability services (OT, SP, Physio, home modifications, assistive technology, continence, dietetics) from Albany, throughout Perth and up to Karratha.
Before starting in the Theme Manager role at The Kids, Crystal led the Customer Experience division at a large not-for-profit therapy provider - managing all customer experience and administration services across 15 office locations.
